Promoting Learning, Preserving Cultures
Entering it's 19th year of service
The Afterschool Enrichment Program provides students from Theodore Roosevelt Elementary, James H. Vernon Middle School, and the Oyster Bay High School with supervised activities including homework help, non-competitive games, sports, cultural & civic enrichment activities, health, character and life skills education.
The Afterschool Enrichment Program welcomes all students from the OBEN School District from grades K to 8th. One of the goals of the program is to ensure that children from low-income families where English is not the first language do not fall behind academically.
Throughout the year the Parents Committee organizes workshops and seminars to promote parental involvement in their children's education as well as ways to improve their parenting skills.
***Starting September 2017 the Hispanic Cultural Center will open up their office in the evening for High School students for extra help and tutoring.***
