Afterschool Enrichment Program
Centro Cultural Hispano (CCH) was organized in 1997 as a result of a grassroots movement by the Hispanic residents of Oyster Bay & East Norwich.CCH is directed entirely by elected volunteers drawn from the Hispanic populations. Since 2003 our office has been located in donated space at Christ Church's Parish Hall. CCH's elected Board of Directors meets regularly to plan activities, consider problems, direct personnel, and address short and long-term concerns.
Our Mission is to work towards the educational, social, and economic development of the Hispanic community in Oyster Bay, East Norwich and surrounding areas.
We achieved our mission through various programs which included: An after-school program for K-6th, A Youth Group, English as a Second Language Classes for Adults, Community Integration Time Exchange (CITE), and Outreach and Advocacy services. We also offered various volunteer opportunities for students and adults.
Due to several obstacles, and careful consideration the Centro Cultural Hispano's Board of Directors and the Executive Director has regrettably decided to end its programs and close the doors of the organization as of June 30th, 2019. We are very proud that we made a difference and touched many people's lives.
